Can You Open The Rear Hatch of Acura MDX With Yakima FrontLoader Y02103 Installed?

Does the rear hatch open on a 2020 Acura MDX when using the Yakima FrontLoader?

We have not had a chance to test the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mounted Bike Rack # Y02103 on a 2020 Acura MDX yet, but I would happy to help you figure out if you will be able to open the rear hatch with the rack installed.

The # Y02103 is 56" long over all, so I recommend moving your front crossbar as far forward as possible and then measuring from the front of the crossbar to the closest edge of your hatch with it opened. Now depending on the wheel base of your bike your tire may extended a bit of the back of the rack so if you have 60" or so of clearance you should have enough room.

Now you can also install the rack backwards with the front of the bike facing towards the rear of the hatch which will give you additional clearance and should allow you to open the hatch.
