New trailer, heavy, heavy tailgate. What is diameter of cables? Should I upgrade to bigger cable?

The Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist part # GL1 would be a great option for tailgates up to 300 lbs. It uses heavy duty 3/16" diameter cable. There is not an option to upgrade to larger cables unfortunately.
