To get the wires through the firewall, the easiest method would be to find a grommet where a factory wiring harness passes through the firewall. Use a small knife to cut a slit in the grommet so you can pass the wire through, but be sure to verify that there isn't anything that can be damaged on the other side of the grommet when you make the slit.
Or, for a wireless brake controller, you can't go wrong with the Tekonsha Prodigy RF, part # TK94FR or the Curt # C51180 Echo Wireless Brake Controller. Either will work just fine with the 7-way you have in place from the # ETBC7 brake controller install kit you previously purchased. With either option, you wouldn't need to run a circuit into the passenger cabin, you'll just need a connection to the positive battery terminal which can be ran under the vehicle.
If you'll only be using one trailer, the # TK94FR Prodigy RF would be a fine choice, as it's bolted to the trailer frame. If you'd be using more than one trailer, the Curt # C51180 Echo which would communicate wirelessly with your smart phone would be the better option.
I've linked to product videos for both controllers mentioned above.
