How Many Friction Hinges are Needed to Hold Step in Place

Question:

How many hinges are recommended to be replaced? I am replacing the factory steps with the new one piece steps that fold up and into the doorway. Our door was previously held by a strut which has to be removed with the new steps. Now I’m looking at either the friction hinge or the simpler less expensive door clip. Is it recommended to replace each hinge with the friction hinge or is one adequate to hold the door in most situations i.e. not gusty, breezy winds?

To be effective you only have to replace one hinge of your RV door step with the Replacement Controlled Motion Hinge for RV Entry Door # LC95VR with just one hinge installed the effect is provided and it will hold the step in place and not let it free fall.
