Grille Guard for a 2012 Nissan XTerra S-Model

Question:

Is this a bolt-on guard using existing bolt holes? Does it attach to the vehicle frame? Bumper? Does it provide reasonably effective protection to the grill etc in the event of a collision with deer, or is it too light-weight for this? Thanks!

The grille guard you referenced, # 40-1435, only fits a 2002 to 2004 Nissan Xterra, not a 2012 model. For the 2012 model we have the Ultimate Bull Bar, # 32-1695. These Bull Bars mount to the vehicle frame. They are going to offer more protection than if they were not present. However, they are not like law enforcement push bars that you see on police vehicles. In other words, I do not recommend looking for things to bump into. I have linked instructions for you.
