Parts Needed for Installing a Brake Controller on a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500
Question:
I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 and it has flat 4 connector wired up to the back. I want to get a trailer brake controller probably this one and want to know what else I will need to buy for this to work. I will need to wire up my truck with the round 7 pin connector correct? Of you could let me know what all the parts I will need are and what their purpose is that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

To get your 1996 Dodge Ram set up to tow a trailer with brakes you will need to install # ETBC7 to get a 7 pole at the back of your truck. The # RED44FR will work great with your truck. If the 4 pole you have installed is from factory, you can also use # 3020-S to make it easier to get the brake controller installed. You will connect this wiring harness to the factory connector under the driver side dash.
This should be all that you need to get your truck set up to tow.
