Correct Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution For 800 lb Tongue Weight

Question:

Hi, I measured the hitch weight of my Forest River Grey Wolf 27DBH with the Better Weigh device and it is coming in just a touch under 800lbs. Should I go with the Blue Ox BLU47FR, which says it is for 600-800 or the BLU77FR which says it is for 800-1000lbs. Also, how do I know if I need a 7 or 9 hole shank?

The correct Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution for your camper that has a GVWR of 7,815 lbs is going to be the option for the tongue weight between 800 lbs to 1,000 lbs. The reason for that is the weight distribution hitch you want is one that is rated for the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer, and since loaded tongue weight is generally in the 12 percent or so range, I'm guessing the trailer was not fully loaded.

In regards to the correct shank, that will just depend on what rise or drop you need, as the 7-hole and 9-hole TrackPro's have different maximum rise/drops, so you'll want to base your choice off of that:

- Maximum Rise 8" / Maximum Drop 2": Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank # BLU77FR

- Maximum Rise 10-1/2" / Maximum Drop 4-1/2": Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control - 9-Hole Shank # BLU87FR
