Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2007 Honda Pilot

Question:

I own a 2007 Honda Pilot. I am interested in getting a transmission cooler. I will be pulling a 17 foot RV camper approx weight of 3,400 pounds mostly with it. Is there a cooler that doesnt require much disassembly of the Pilot that will still get the job done? Kinda like a in and splice it in. If not, then what would you recommend for my 2007 Honda Pilot? Thanks... William.

Because the most efficient place to install the cooler is directly behind the grille in front of the radiator, out of necessity you'll need to remove the front bumper cover and the grille. I'd recommend going with the Derale
# D13503, which you can see being installed on a 2006 Honda Pilot by clicking the provided link. As you can see, the install isn't terribly difficult, just a little time consuming.

A transmission cooler is an inexpensive insurance policy for your transmission, as every degree you can lower the fluid temperature will extend the life of your transmission. The ideal operating temperature for a transmission is below 200º. A supplemental cooler like what I recommended will help keep the fluid of a properly operating transmission within that range.

I've also linked to some helpful articles where you can learn more about transmission coolers.
