7 Pole Compatibility on a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I have a Subaru Outback with a 4 wire trailer setup. I need to go to a 7 wire system. Ive looked at your ETBC7 installation kit. My question is with the brake switch connection. Ive been warned to NOT connect to the switch due to computer system concerns. How can I safely resolve this concern? Thank you very much. Jerry

We have not experienced any issues with installing a brake controller on a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon. We will typically disconnect the battery when installing # ETBC7. That is the kit I would recommend installing on your vehicle to get 7-way wiring.
If you are needing a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR for its compact size and Brake EVN # TK63VR and # 20127 for its easy to use design.
