Putting Larger Wheel and Tire Combinations on a Trailer with 4.80x12

Question:

Hello I just bought a trailer that has 4.8x12 tires on it, what would I have to to change them to a 13 or 15 inch tire/rim? Ideally 15 inch 5 lug but please give me all the options

There is a lot of factors that go into this decision. First off what lug pattern do you have (See Article below)? I'm assuming you already have 5 lug but if not then you will have to look at a new hub assembly. If you already have the 5 on 4-12"lug pattern then you will need to look at dimensions that you can fit.

4.80-12 # AM30660
-Width 4.9"
-Diameter 20.7"

205/75R15 # AM32238B
-Width 7.99"
-Diameter 27.13"

You will want to ensure that you have 1" clearance on the sides as well as 3" on the tread face all the way through the suspension cycle. If you have any questions regarding the hub bolt pattern or the clearance that you will have please let me know and I will help identify what you need.
