Replacing Dexter 8-248 Trailer Hub Fitment
Question:
I am currently looking at replacing my Dexter 8-248 trailer hub. Is your Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 Item # DX98XR the correct replacement? My current one is 5 on 4.5. Thank you

Yes, the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 84545UC1-EZ is the correct kit assuming you do have EZ lube spindles. This kit comes preinstalled with the races and lug studs. New bearings, seal, nut, grease cap and lug nuts are included.
If you do not have EZ Lube spindles than Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 84545BX is correct for you. It is identical to the other kit except for this is for non EZ lube axles. You can add Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB1980A-SS to make your bearings last longer by giving you a grease fitting. This makes lubing the bearings a much faster and simpler process.
