Can 4 Pole Provided By Tekonsha 118778 Power Putco LED Tailgate Bar

Question:

I already have a Tekosha 118778 installed on my 2019 Honda Ridgeline. Thanks for a very wonderful product! When I installed it on my truck, I strictly followed the provided installation instruction manual by ing two 7.5 Amp and one 20 Amp Fuses to its designated slots to safeguard my truck’s electrical wiring. But instead of using it as a typical connector for a trailer, I have a 48” Putco LED Tailgate Light Bar plugged-in to it, and it’s been working well! Now, another Putco product is a pair of an “18 light bar that I am planning to mount along the sides of my truck. I intend to use it as a side-running light instead of as a tailgate light. Since both the “48 and a pair of “18 light bar use a 4-pole flat connectors, I also have “Tailgate Wiring Harness Y-Adaptor” that will accommodate this 4-pole flat connection requirement. My question is: Will those three fuses that I already ed in my truck provide enough safeguard with both the “48 and a pair of “18 light bar installed? What could be the consequences of plugging two light bars on my truck? Thank you very much for your technical support!

Helpful Expert Reply:

Luckily, the 4.2A capacity per circuit for stop/turn lights and the 7.5 amp amps per circuit capacity for running lamps should be sufficient for the lamps you describe. The # P92009-48 draws less than 2 amps. I'm not sure which other LED lights you're using, but since LED lamps use only a tiny fraction of the power used by incandescent lamps, you should be okay. If you'd care to reply with the part numbers of the other lamps you're using, I'd be happy to research their power draw for you.
