Parts Needed To Install Tekonsha Prodigy P3 90195 in 2020 Chevy Express 2500 W/ Factory 7-way
Question:
Hello, I have a 2020 Express 2500 van with a factory 7 pin connector. I am looking at this brake controller: 90195. Is there anything else I need to install and connect to the factory wiring harness? Thank you

Since your 2020 Chevrolet Express Van 2500 has the factory 7-way connector that means that the blue brake output wire is already run and is located near the emergency brake pedal under the dash.
You will need the # 5506 to provide the ground and 12v power to the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 you were looking at, and also a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to find the cold side of the stop light switch wire that only has power when the brakes are applied.
The # 5506 will install with the black wire running to the positive terminal of your battery with the included 20amp circuit breaker if your trailer has 1-2 braking axles, or the 30 amp circuit breaker if your trailer has 3-4 braking axles. The white wire will run to the negative terminal on your battery.
With that complete the wiring harness included with the # 90195 will install as follows:
Black wire to black wire of # 5506
White wire to white wire of # 5506
Blue wire to factory blue brake output wire
Red wire to cold side of stop light switch.
I included videos for the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
