Adding Sway Control to 1-1/4" Receiver for Trailer Towing

Question:

Looking to purchase a trailer with 1000# gross weight, class 1 coupler. What item can I buy to help with sway on highway driving? I see your Reese sway control kit #83660 says dont use with class 1. What do you suggest?

You will want to use Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200. I confirmed with Curt and they gave it the go ahead saying they have not had any issues with it being used in that configuration.

You will need Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 1-1/4" Drawbars # RP26005 to add the attachment point for the sway ball on your receiver. You will want to refer to our Hitch Height Measurement page linked below to make sure you get the correct drawbar.
