Air Helper Spring Kit Recommended for 2008 Ford F250
Question:
I’m looking to add an air bag kit with compressor onto my existing 2008 F-250. It already has a BandW turn over gooseneck hitch installed but I’m now looking to tow a bumper hitch RV trailer. I’ve already got a sway support hitch but would like to add the additional air assist leveling capability as well. I will instal the kit my self. I’m interested in your thought and or recommendations. Thanks

For an air helper spring kit that's compatible with your existing B&W Turnover Ball gooseneck hitch and can be used for vehicles with or without factory top overload springs, I'd recommend the # F2550 Firestone Ride Rite kit. The kit can provide up to 5000 lbs of support, but like all suspension enhancement systems it won't increase the capacity of your suspension.
If you won't have the need to continually adjust the pressure in the system, a light duty compressor system like the # F2158 you'd looked at would work fine for you. However, if the weights carried in the truck bed or trailer will vary quite a bit to the point where you'll need to make frequent adjustments to the air pressure in the system I believe you'd be happier with a heavy duty compressor system like # F2097 which would allow you to make adjustment's more quickly.
I've linked to installation videos for both the Ride-Rite kit I recommended but also to the compressor kits.
