The Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521423-4 is a good fit for your 2002 Jeep Liberty as long as your vehicle does not have a brush guard. This kit features a hidden bracket design which allows the draw bars to be easily removed via 2 pins, giving the base plates a more subtle appearance. It is also compatible with all Roadmaster tow bars.
If your Jeep does have a brushguard, you can go with the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit # 521426-1. Prior to flat towing your vehicle, be sure to consult your vehicle owners guide for the proper methods and precautions. To flat tow your Jeep, in addition to the base plate kit and the tow bar, you will need a brake lighting kit, safety cables, and a supplemental braking system.
The easiest lighting system to use that requires no splicing into your vehicles electrical system is the Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120. This product is Department of Transportation and has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring. If you tow more frequently, I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring # RM-155. It also requires no tapping into your vehicles wiring by running beneath your car. I have provided a link to our FAQ page on which lighting kit is your best option.
For your safety cables, I recommend the Roadmaster Cables # RM-643. I have provided a link to a video showing the typical installation of this product. Finally, the majority of states mandate a proportional braking system. I recommend the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Braking System # RM-8700. It requires a one-time setup and the system automatically functions when hooked up to your RV. I have provided a link to a video showing a typical installation.
I have provided links to our FAQ pages on supplemental braking systems and overall towing.
