Adding a 7-way Connection with Brake Controller to a 2011 Dodge Dakota Big Horn 4x4
Question:
I need to add a 7-pin connector to my 2011 Ram Dakota Big Horn 4x4. It currently has a 4-pin connector. I tried a connector that was listed for my truck, but it does not look to be the correct connection. I just want to confirm the ETBC7 kit is the correct kit for my truck. It looks to come with everything I am looking for. 7-pin kit, fuse, the long wires to reach the front of the truck, etc.

Yes, you are on the correct item. The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 will give you what you need to install a 7-pin connection onto your 2011 Dakota. You having the 4-pin connector will save you time as well as that will plug into the new kit. And don't worry either because there is a separate 4-pin connection next to the 7-pin for future use without disconnecting the kit. There is a great video of the entire process done on a 2009 Dakota for you to watch as well.
The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 is the same one used in the video as well and one of my favorite brake controllers out there. It is proportional and will adjust braking during light braking or panic stops without extra input.
