Recommended Replacement Axle For Harbor Freight 4' x 8' Trailer

Question:

Hi there. Was looking to get a replacement axle for my harbor freight 4 by 8 trailer. It appears my current axle is .985 inches in diameter for the spindle and was looking to upgrade to a normal 1 inch size. Is this possible? Do you carry such an axle that is a direct fit to the 4 by 8 trailer?

To determine the correct replacement axle for harbor freight 4' x 8' trailer you will need to measure your current axle hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center. I included a diagram that goes over this measurement.

Another option is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 - Regular Tires - 2,000 lbs # A20RS545 which will bolt to the frame of your trailer so you will not need to worry about measuring your current axles, and will replace your current leaf springs with progressive rate AEON springs that will give you a much smoother ride than your current leaf springs.

This option already comes 5 on 4-1/2" idler hubs and uses the more common # L44649 bearings which will allow you to find replacement parts easier in the future.

If you can tell me the measurements of your current axle I would be happy to see if we have a standard axle option that will work for you.

I included a video of the # A20RS545 for you to take a look at.
