Replacement For RVCOLP-2 Propane & Carbon Monoxide Detector

Question:

Hi There, We have the RVCOLP-2 propane alarm in our Jayco 5th wheel 2020. We have had our system checked for leaks and have none reported. However, it seems that for some reason the alarm will sound for Propane approx 5-10 beeps at least once a day for no apparent reason, then stop. I have vacuumed it of with a brush thinking it was dust causing the problem. The voltage on the batteries read anywhere from 12.6 Volts to 13 volts when it goes off. Any ideas? I'm thinking about replacing it. Thanks

Based on what you are saying, it sounds like the detector is faulty and needs to be replaced; you did the right thing with vacuuming it and checking the batteries, as those are the two steps that need to be taken to ensure there isn't a dust/voltage issue. Since there is not, replacing it is the right move, and you can do so with either a White or Black color:

- White: 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS34FR

- Black: 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS54FR

I have added links below to some video reviews for you to check out as well if you'd like to take a look.
