Parts Needed to Add a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder with Factory Tow Package
Question:
I have a 2006 Nissan Pathdinder Off Road that has the factory towing package including the 4 way connection. I will be towing a Little Guy tear trailer w/o brakes or back up lights. How do I install this adapter and what do I do with the loose wires? Obviously, I believe some may not be needed other than the ground? Thank you.

If the trailer you are towing has a 7-Way but does not have electric brakes, reverse lights, or require 12 volt power then I wonder why it has a 7-Way on it unless it is just for a battery. But to add a 7-Way to your 2006 Nissan Pathfinder you can use the adapter # C57674. Your 4-Way will plug in to the 4-Way end on the adapter. You are correct about the white wire on the adpater. It will need to be grounded to the vehicle frame.
The remaining wires are black for 12 volt power, blue for output to trailer brakes (brake controller required), and yellow for either reverse lights or auxiliary power. If these functions are not needed then you can tape then up and stow them out of the way.
The other option, since your Pathfinder has the factory tow package, is to use a harness like # 118266. This will be a simple replacement to the 4-Way you have know and it includes the relays to make it fully functional. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
