Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch with 2-1/2 Shank for 38 Foot Long Trailer with 1100-lbs TW
Question:
Hi I have a trailer 38 foot Long 11.33 Height and 10,500 G.V.W.R and T.W 1,100 could you tell me if your item # C17501 would be the right Weight Distribution Sway control for this trailer OR what you would recommend. AND I have a 2015 Ram 2500 with a 2/1/2 or 3 inche Hitch Receiver. AND would I need to reduce with a Sleeve to fit your 2 inch Hitch.

The Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 15,000 lbs GTW, 1,500 lbs TW # C17501 will work just fine for your 10,500-lbs GVWR and 1100-lbs tongue weight trailer assuming that when fully loaded the tongue weight doesn't exceed 1500-lbs. The TruTrack is great because it's not going to give you the rigid ride that you normally get with some WD systems with sway control. You can also add the Curt Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2" Hitches - 12" Rise - 9-1/4" Drop # C17132 to give you a shank that can be used in your 2-1/2" hitch so you won't need a sleeve adapter to get down to the 2" hitch.
I do recommend weighing your fully loaded trailer with a tongue weight scale like the Sherline # 5780 to make sure that the way you typically load the trailer doesn't put over 1500-lbs on the tongue weight. If you do, then you'll want to go up to a different system. If that's the case just let me know what your tongue weight is when you're loaded up and I can recommend a better solution for you.
I've also linked some review videos of this system for you to check out.
