Compatibility of Curt C45949-2516 Rebellion XD Adjustable Ball Mount with 7000 lb Utility Trailer

Question:

Curt Rebellion XD: 15000lbs I’ m looking to buy a adjustable hitch. I drive a F-150 max tow package and haul a utility trailer with max weight 5000lbs to 7000lbs gross total weight. Would this product work with my setup? I’ve heard a lot of great things about this hitch but wondered if I shock bushing would even be noticeable.

The Curt # C45949-2516 Rebellion XD Shock Absorbing Adjustable Ball Mount provides a 2-5/16 inch trailer ball. It's adjustable from a 6-1/4 inch maximum drop to a maximum rise of 1/4 inch in increments of 1-1/4 inches. If that amount of adjustability will bring your trailer level, the # C45949-2516 Rebellion XD would be an excellent choice that will do a great job of isolating much of the rattling and banging from the connection between the trailer and the vehicle for more comfortable towing.

I'll link to a product demonstration video and an article that will show how to measure to determine what rise or drop ball mount you'll need. Simply measure the height from the inside top edge of the receiver to the ground, then jack the trailer up so it's level and measure the distance from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. The difference between these two measurements is the rise/drop you'll need. If the receiver is higher than the coupler, you'll need a drop and if the coupler is taller than the receiver, you'll need a rise.

This is a fairly new product, but we've gotten a 1 year review not too long ago that was very favorable. Our customer has used the Rebellion XT for towing more than 60,000 miles and it's worked very well for him.
