Yes you would need a supplemental braking system when flat towing your 2011 Honda CR-V. The easiest to setup and best performing is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. At this time there are laws that vehicles that are being flat towed need a braking setup even though it may seem like your RV brakes are so powerful it wouldn't make a difference it would make a difference in an emergency situation.
Plus the supplemental braking system have breakaway setups that would stop the vehicle if it were to somehow get disconnected.
