How To Transport 4 Bikes On A 2011 Ram 1500 When Pulling A Trailer
Question:
Hello, I was all set to order part # CC-275 until I realized it has a 100lb weight limit. Is this suitable for a 4-bike rack or is it only strong enough for 2 bikes? Is there a better product for 4 bikes?

The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # CC-275 having a weight capacity of 100lbs is a bit light for a 4 bike carrier. You could use Yakima RidgeBack 4 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # Y02458. This carrier weighs about 35lbs; if your bikes weight no more than 16lbs a piece then this is recommended. The only other option for a trailer bike rack is to use Swagman RV 4-Bike RV Bumper Mount Rack # S80600 if your trailer/camper has a steel square rear bumper at least 4" wide and no more than 4-1/2" wide.
Your last option is a tailgate bike rack such as Swagman Tailwhip Tailgate Pad Bike Rack for Mid-Size Trucks - 54" Wide # S64761. This will go over your tailgate; you can set your bikes over your tailgate before purchasing the tailgate pad to determine if you have the necessary room for turning with your trailer hooked up.
I have attached demonstration videos for these products.
