Recommended Kayak Carrier For 80lb Fishing Kayak On 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

I bought a 2004 Suburban. It has factory installed roof rack. I need to haul a 12ft fishing kayak that weighs right at 80 lbs. I was hoping to get something like the Thule Hullavator. I am not sure I see products that are compatible. What do you recommend?

I have another option for you, but the Thule Hullavator # TH898 is only rated for 75lbs and will not work with the factory crossbars on your 2004 Chevrolet Suburban.

Instead I recommend taking a look at the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier - Folding - Universal Mount # e98878 which has a weight capacity of 150lbs which is plenty for your 80lb fishing kayak and works with factory crossbars as long as they are not larger than 3-1/8" wide x 1-1/2" tall. The included padded tie-downs will give you a secure attachment point for the front and rear of your kayak.
