Recommended Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Hitches for 2016 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
Looking for recommendations and options for setting up my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 HD crew cab short bed truck to tow a fifth wheel camper. I would like to avoid permanent mount bed rails. I dont have a fifth wheel camper yet. I was looking at mounting a gooseneck hitch with either adapter rails and a regular fifth wheel hitch, a companion hitch or one of the other adapter options. I will need to install and remove the hitch by myself. I am also considering adding a bed mounted crane as I need to move generators pretty often, so if a heavier companion hitch is recommended, I can also use advice on a bed mounted crane. thanks!

B&W # BWGNRK1016 is a great option for your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. Using a Gooseneck is going to keep your bed space open when you're not towing your camper or any other trailers you might have. We also have B&W # BWRVK3400 which allows you to switch back and forth between your fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers. There is no permanent rails that get mounting in the bed, you simply drop the companion into your gooseneck and hit the road. Using the sliding companion is going to be essential for your truck since you do have a short bed. The sliding feature gives you more clearance to make sharp turns or maneuvers without worrying about hitting your cab with the nose of the trailer. B&W is a great setup that definitely holds up well over time.
