Suspension Enhancement for 2016 Toyota Tacoma Towing Trailer with Bed Cargo

Question:

Looking for guidance on the SumoSprings. I have a stock 16 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4 4dr long bed with factory installed towing package. Towing a 21 Nu Camp TAB320 Boondock 1 or 2 times a month between April and November. Dry weight is around 2,000lbs, allowable payload in the trailer of 600lbs and tongue weight around 220lbs. Usually load the bed with 500ish lbs of gear. Which springs would you recommend 500lb blue or 1000lb black? This truck is my daily driver as well. Thanks

Expert Reply:

Based on how much you'd be carrying and towing the SumoSpring you'd want is the # SSR-612-47 which has the 1,000 lb capacity.

But your best option is the RoadActive Suspenion kit part # RAS4514-SAT which gives you the support you are wanting while improving handling and stability beyond what the SumoSpring offers and do so without negatively affecting the ride quality.
