Yakima Jay Low Carriers Mounting Position on EXR Exposed Bars

Question:

Thinking about purchasing the red exposed 2 bar system for my 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL . It’s a square bar, will the Yakima Jay low kayak rack attach to it. I would by 2 sets as to haul, 2-3 kayaks. My concerns are wind noise with all the pre-drilled holes for exposed accessories and also if they will fit near the end of the bar? Exposed racks appear to have the bolts in that area...

The Yakima # Y04073 JayLow Kayak Carrier will mount on square cross bars. Any time you haul kayaks on a vehicle there will be considerable wind noise no matter how you try to mitigate that. If there are exposed holes that may whistle you might cap or tape them closed. The kayak carriers rest on the crossbars, so you can mount them as far out to the edge as your ability to secure them in place.
