Can Power Draw From Reverse Lockout Solenoid Damage ECM on 2015 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Hello...2015 Toyota Highlander Limited, will adding a 5 wire, to a 4-wire existing pigtail 5th being reverse lock out solenoid for disk surge brake having a increased load on the backup light circuit cause problems with the ECM? Thanks

Since the additional voltage required for the lockout circuit is negligible, it'll be no problem whatsoever, especially if the taillight converter you currently have is a powered converter. The # C56217 Curt T Connector that you'd looked at is a powered converter which draws the power for the lights and other functions directly from the vehicle battery, rather than pulling it through the vehicle's taillight circuits. If that's what you're using, you'll have no worries with the ECM. You'll need a # 47515 adapter if you don't already have one.
