Lightweight Bike Rack With Rise in Shank That Can be Used on Motorhome

Question:

We have a 21 Airstream Atlas Motor home and are looking for a bike rack. The Kuat Sherpa looks good due to its weight, but Im concerned about the backup sensors on the bumper. The rack would need to be about 35 off the ground to clear those sensors, With the air-shocks perhaps the ride of the Atlas is such that the non-rv rated hitch mounts would work? Any advice welcomed.

While the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G is indeed a fantastic rack, it is not rated for use behind a motorhome, so I can't recommend going that route, even with air shocks on your motorhome.

I do have a really good option for a bike rack that is indeed rated for use behind a motorhome, is lightweight, and has a rise in the shank for excellent clearance; the rack is made by Hollywood Racks:

- Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # HLY94FR

This rack can be used on your motorhome, weighs just 20 lbs so it is very lightweight and easy to handle, and has a 9" rise in the shank to give you additional clearance above your sensors. It even has a locking hitch pin which ensures the rack is going to remain secure on your motorhome, and is overall one of the best values for a bike rack with its combination of quality and price.

I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well of the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # HLY94FR.
