How to Determine If I Have an OLD or NEW Western Plow to Replace the Cable

Question:

My western plow is from the late 1980s. Would that be a OLD or NEW Style plow. I need a control cable and need to know the difference. Thanks

At almost 40 years old it's safe to bet that your Western plow would be considered "old", but obviously still reliable. The difference between the Replacement Control Cable for Western Snow Plow - "New Style" - 9' Long # 3371313010 and Replacement Control Cable for Western Snow Plow - "Old Style" - 9' Long # 3371313005 is the connections on the ends. Both have a ring at one end, but the "Old Style" has a ball connection on the end while the "New Style" is designed to receive a ball type attachment.

The other available cable, the Replacement Adjustable Control Cable for Western Snow Plow - 9' Long # 3371313015, is designed to replace a specific Western Plow part number # 56130.

I've linked a photo of the "Old" style connection for you to verify it's the correct attachment. If you've got a different attachment, and can provide a photo of your old cable let me know and I can help you match the correct part.
