Converting Overland Trailer Electric Brake Hub Bolt Pattern From 5x5 To 6x5-1/2
Question:
I just bought an off road overland trailer that has IFS and currently set up with electric brake hubs 5x5. Id like to change them to a 6 bolt pattern to match my Tacoma. Do you have a product that would allow me to do this?

We would need to know more about your trailer axles to know exactly what you need. You would need to swap out a decent amount of your axle components to get this done. Let's assume that your using a wheel size of 14-1/2", 15", 16" or 16-1/2" and your axle rating is 5,200 lbs, 6,000 lbs, and 7,000 lbs. You could use our Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-7-SA and if you have a Inner bearing # 25580 (1.75" inner diameter) and outer bearing # 15123 (1.25" inner diameter) you could use this hub and drum assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K. This is a 6 on 5-1/2 hub and will match your Toyota Tacoma's bolt pattern.
An easier solution is to buy an adapter. We do not sell these but it would act as a wheel spacer but providing a different bolt pattern on the other side. This will result in your wheels sitting a little farther out than what you're used to but can be counteracted with the correct offset wheel. Some say that this isn't the best for vehicles, but since it's on your trailer and it's not a drive wheel I don't think you'll have an issue.
