To tow a trailer with your 2008 Honda Pilot, I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro, part # BLU36FR. This weight distribution system can support tongue weights between 200 and 600 pounds and has a built-in sway control. You will definitely appreciate that sway control as you are driving.

There is something that you need to keep in mind, though. Even though this system can support tongue weights of up to 600 pounds, that doesn't mean that your hitch can. In fact, looking at the hitches available for your Pilot, it looks like the highest tongue weight is 500 pounds when used with a weight distribution system. So, you need to ensure that your trailer's tongue weight does not exceed that.

Since your trailer's dry weight (the weight without anything in it) is 3400 pounds, your tongue weight while unloaded can be around 340 to 400 pounds. However, when you load things on it, that tongue weight will change. As I said before, keep that tongue weight below 500 pounds and the total weight below 5000 pounds.
