Can Yakima Y02483 BackSwing Be Used With Spare Tire Carrier

Question:

I am looking for a swing away spare tire mount for a 2 hitch receiver. Can I combine the Thule Access Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2 Hitches with the Curt # C31006 Trailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier successfully to accomplish what I am trying to have. Are there better solutions? I cant seen to find a place to buy the Wilco Offroad Hitchgate Solo Spare Tire Carrier - they are out of stock. Any advice would be most appreciated. I drive a 2019 Toyota Sienna with a Journeys Off Road 3 lift. Thank you

The Curt # C31006 spare tire carrier can indeed be used with the Yakima # Y02483 BackSwing Swinging Hitch Adapter as long as the combined 35 lb weight of the adapter, the 15 lb weight of the spare tire carrier and the weight of the spare tire itself doesn't exceed the tongue weight capacity of the hitch you're using or the 250 lb weight capacity of the swing-away adapter. The hitch should have its tongue weight capacity listed on a sticker affixed to it.

The # C31006 is a universal carrier which should fit any wheel bolt pattern but because it's a universal fit the hardware to mount the tire to the carrier isn't provided.
