Are Weight Distribution Systems Set Up for the Trailer, the Vehicle, or Both
Question:
Im am purchasing a used travel trailer camper and it is being sold with a WD hitch. Was the hitch specifically setup for the prior tow vehicle or is is adjusted for the camper. In other words, should I expect to make adjustments before towing home or will I be OK to hook up and go?

Weight distribution systems get setup for both the tow vehicle and the trailer. The amount of spring bar tension the system will be set to is based on the tongue weight of the trailer and how the rear suspension of the tow vehicle reacts to the tongue weight. If the previous tow vehicle was a similar vehicle to what you have I'd bet that the spring bar tension would be pretty close to ideal but would definitely require checking to be sure.
