I have a solution for you, but Jeep did not start pre-wiring the Grand Cherokee for a trailer brake controller until 2011.
To install a trailer brake controller on your 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with the 4.7L V8 you will need to make the connections yourself with the harness included with the trailer brake controller.
If you do not already have a trailer brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it has an easy to read LCD screen, and built in diagnostics that are easy to read and understand.
If your Jeep has the factory 7-way connector you will need find the light green wire that is located behind the in cab fuse box which will get attached to the blue wire on the trailer brake controller harness. Using the Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers # 5506 will give you the wires, circuit breakers, and connectors needed to connect the black and white wires of the controller harness to the positive and negative terminals of your battery.
The last connection will require you to use a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to find the wire on your brake switch that only receives power when the brake pedal is pressed, and you will connect the red wire of the controller harness to this wire.
If your Jeep does not have a factory 7-way connector you will need to first install a 4-way connector using # 118425 and then install the # ETBC7 which will plug into your new 4-way connector and will include everything needed to complete the installation.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
