Recommended Air Helper Springs For 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Hauling Different Loads

Question:

Hi there, I own a 2002 gmc 1500 Sierra and am looking around for some air bags. I haul anything from firewood, hay bales, loaded and unloaded quad trailer to loaded and uloaded stock trailers. What kind of options do I have on air bags and what would be the best fit? Thank you very much.

For your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 I recommend the Firestone Sport-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2320 as it is a confirmed fit for your vehicle, and offers a maximum load leveling capacity of 3000lbs which will handle anything you throw at it.

The Firestone # F2320 work with air pressures ranging from 10-100 PSI allowing you to fine tune the support for each different load you carry.

To keep yourself from having to manually air up each air bag when you are ready to tow or haul a heavy load I recommend taking a look at the Air Command Compressor System # F2610 which will allow you to adjust the pressure in your helper springs by using your smartphone.

Keep in mind that air helper springs like the # F2320 are designed to support your suspension, and will not increase your trucks weight carrying capacity.

The Firestone # F2320 requires 6" of clearance between the inside of your rear tire and the outside of the frame rail, so you will want to double check that your truck has at least 6" clearance before purchasing.

I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
