The Thule Passage trunk mount bike rack # TH910XT is a fit for the 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor. However, it is possible that this or any trunk mount bike rack can cause abrasions or marks on a vehicle. I own a trunk mount bike rack and have not had this problem myself but it is a possibility.
What you will need to do is make sure that before installing the rack the vehicle is clean and the rack where it touches the vehicle is clean. You can also apply a coat of wax on the vehicle where the rack will touch for added protection.
The safest way to carry bikes on a vehicle and to keep them off of the vehicle is to use a trailer hitch and hitch mount bike rack. The most popular trailer hitch for your vehicle is # 13113. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver so you will have many bike rack options. For a simple 2 bike rack I recommend the Swagman Trailhead # S63360. I have included links for the hitch and bike rack for you.
For either rack if you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame tube that go straight across I recommend using a bike adapter bar like # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry the bikes more level and provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video that shows how the adapter works.
