Recommended SumoSprings Helper Springs For 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST Z71 4x4

Question:

Hello I am looking to add a set of sumo springs to my 2021 Silverado 1500 RST z71 4x4 I just noticed there’s is 3 different options I don’t tow a lot only a few times a year in desert season and about 5k pounds at most and with about 400 pounds on my bed when I haul my quads around witch part # do u recommend. Also for installation do we always use the spacer provided cause I saw in the comments question some people are leaving them out on stock trucks.

Since your trailer is about 5000lbs meaning your tongue weight is between 500-750lbs, and you are adding an additional 400lbs to the bed of your truck you are adding around 1150lbs to the rear of your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado RST Z71 4x4.

With that number in mind, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS45FR which offers 1500lbs of support which is perfect for the weight you mentioned.

Regarding using or not using the spacer, what you are looking for is around a 1/4" - 1/2" gap between the spring and the axle, so if you are at that gap without the spacer you will not want to use it.

I included a video of the # SS45FR for you to take a look at.
