Will The Trailer Spare Tire Carrier DL22128 Move Around While Driving

Question:

From the pictures shown, it seems like the tire would slide back and forth at the mounted area. How reliable is this to stay wear it is placed? What other ideas are there for location of U-Bolt? I am about to buy one but need assurance of safety of placement and functionality. Thanks

When you tighten the two nuts on the studs of the Trailer Spare Tire Carrier # DL22128 you were looking at, it will squeeze the tire against the frame which will keep it secure and won't allow it to slide back and forth.

I wouldn't hesitate to use this product on my trailer, and with a 4.8/5 stars from our customers I can confidently say it will be a very reliable option to transport your spare tire.

Regarding areas for mounting the U-bolt, the most common location is on the left front as seen in the included picture, but we have had customers in other locations like on the trailer tongue without issue as seen in the included picture. Personally I would stick with the front of the trailer if you do not have a tool box or something that will get in the way, or the sides of the trailer.

I included a video for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
