What Is The Difference Between Redarc # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 and Redarc # RED44FR Brake Controllers?

Question:

I have a Lexus GX 460 with the 7 pin connector, and wondering the difference between these seemingly identical brake controllers: RED44FR,3040-S and 331-EBRH-ACCV2,3040-S. Please advise. Thanks!

Your Lexus has a port located under the dash on the drivers side for the Tekonsha # 3040-P pigtail to plug into. The the other end of the pigtail will plug into the # 331-TPH-017 which will then plug into your Redarc Controller. I have attached a link and video about this pigtail. Regardless of which brake controller you get, you will need this pigtail.

Redarc 331-EBRH-ACCV2 was Version 2 of the Redarc Tow Pro Elite (No Longer Available)
Redarc # RED44FR is Version 3 of the Redarc Tow Pro Elite

The remote Unit of Version 3 is slightly bigger than Version 2.
Version 3 remote unit measures 4-3/32" long x 3-11/32" wide x 1-1/8" tall
Version 2 remote unit measures 3-3/8" long x 3-15/16" wide x 1-1/8" tall

Version 3 has new software that results in smoother braking.

Unless you have severely limited space under the dash I would choose the newer version.
