Does the Performance Tool Solar Battery Charger Shut Off Before Overcharging the Battery
Question:
Hello, I recently received the Performance Tool Battery Charger - PTW2997. However before I hook it up to my camper battery I had some concerns hopefully can be answered. Im going to have this hooked up to my camper battery when not in use as I live north east and dont want the cold draining and ruin my battery. When this device is hooked up would it over charge my battery? Its a brand new battery dont want to ruin it that way either.

I have previously reached out to our contact over at Performance Tool about the possibly of overcharging when using the Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997 and he mentioned that this unit does feature a built-in control that will shut the charger down when the battery is completely charged. For that reason there is no risk of overcharging the battery, even if you were to use this for a longer-term application such as when the camper is in storage.
