Are Taillight Converter Boxes Waterproof

Question:

I need to know if the actual converter box is waterproof. I am not using this on a car. I have a Honda Goldwing with a 5 flat wire, and just bought a camper to pull with a 4 flat wire. I want to use it as a converter from the m/c to the trailer by adding a 5 flat plug in place of the vehicle connectors so the trailer lights will work. In doing so I would like to mount the converter box on the trailer tongue.

The converter use on # C56131 is designed to be water resistant, but it isn't what I'd call waterproof. If it was submerged, water would likely enter the case. I've talked to folks who have gone this route, and they have sealed the converter box seams and wire entry/exit points with silicone caulk, which seems to do the trick. If its possible to mount the box in a spot where it would be somewhat protected from the elements, I'd recommend doing that as well.
