Bulb Rating on CIPA EVO Formance 9007 Halogen Headlight Bulbs # CM93376
Question:
What are these bulbs rated at when installed? The bulb has 65/75w printed on them and the ad for them says 90/100w. 90/100w is too bright to use on the highway but you could get away with 65/75w since they are only 10w more han factory bulbs. Any idea what I am looking at here?

The CIPA EVO Formance Spectras 9007 Halogen Headlight Bulbs, part # CM93376, draws 65/75 watts of power from the vehicles electrical system. They will emit up to 90/100 watts of light. Their long life, low heat, increased tone and high quality filament will outperform factory headlight bulbs.
Many aftermarket replacement bulbs, both halogens and LEDs, are listed as being - for off-road use only - because they do not necessarily comply with all the guidelines set forth by the US Department of Transportation. Often, this is because the color of light emitted is not deemed suitable or appropriate for street use. Sometimes it is because extensive testing on the particular type of bulb - halogen, LED, HID - has not yet been conducted with respect to the intended application.
