Brake Controller On 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD With Factory 4 Way
Question:
Hello, I am wanting to connect a brake controller on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd. I have watched videos you have posted. However, on my truck, the factory connector next to the emergency brake already has something plugged into it? What is that? Is there another way to do it? I also wanted to install a 4 way flat and 7 way connector on it. It already came factory with a 4 way flat. Is there an adapter i can use to install a 7 way? Thanks you.

The blue factory connector located underneath the kick panel on the drivers side can sometimes have a plastic cap or cover over it. If that connector is occupied, you may not have the option to use a plug and play kit for a brake controller. The best option would be to run wiring from the rear 7 way, to the brake controller.
The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Item # ETBC7 is the wiring kit that would be needed and used to provide proper connection for a brake controller. This kit does offer the 4 way to connect as an adapter and provide a 7 way/4way at the back of the vehicle along with the additional wiring.
With use of the wiring kit, the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional Item # 90195 is what I recommend to get the proper setup with your 2007 Dodge Ram 1500.
I have added review and installation videos below to show the use of both products together.
I first would confirm if the blue factory connector is in fact capped only.
