Recommended Weight Distribution System With Chains and Sway Control for 700-900 Lbs Tongue Weight
Question:
Hello, do you have any chain-style WDHs with sway control similar to the Blue Ox SwapPro but suited for TW ranging 700-900 lbs.? My trailer is on the light side and the TW can vary over that range depending on loading conditions, e.g., whether or not I carry water, bikes, etc. for a given trip. I like the features of the SwayPro, especially the ease of disconnecting/connecting since we occasionally travel on forest roads, and because our driveway where we park is also sloped. I also need easy adjustment because of the potential for the TW to change substantially for different trips. So a chain system with sway control might be easier to work with for us. However, it looks like the Blue Ox might only be available for either 500-750 or 750-1000 lbs, and my TW seems to straddle both ranges.

I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System part # RP66084 which has chain style frame hangers and built-in sway control. It's actually one of the best in this category. That said, if you really liked the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution part # BLU66FR you'd have no issue at all using this. The tongue weight ranges are not that sensitive on the low end. It only really becomes an issue when they are exceeded.
