Suspension Options for Grand Design Reflection 303rls

Question:

I’ve seen where people have done a before and after comparison with this installation kit using camera’s in campers and have shown some pretty good improvement. Then I see this statement in etrailers in the SLIPPER SPRING TRAILER SUSPENSION SYSTEM REVIEW with this statement. “However, slipper spring systems generally ride a little more roughly than their double-eye counterparts”. Would you be able to give me some clarification on this? Thanks

Expert Reply:

Regarding slipper leaf springs VS closed eye leaf springs, under typical circustances with a standard equalizer, then yes, the closed eye springs are a little smoother than leaf springs.

In the case of the Roadmaster # RM-2460-2560 kit there is not an equalizer and the slipper ends are turned to the center creating independant suspension for each wheel and far superior dampening of the ride with shock absorbers.

The difference in ride is like night and day. We highly recomend this suspension system upgrade.
