Replacement Bearings and Brake Assemblies For 1998 Dexter 9000lb Axle

Question:

I have a brush bandit chipper it’s a 1999 brush bandit 1890, I need axle bearings inner and outer bearings and races for both sides and the grease seals and the hubcaps for both sides. Do you have separate part numbers for all of these parts? And a kit number? Also I need the brake shoes and shoe spring and fastener kit with the magnetic thing. The axle tag says Dexter axle P12 Model SLR SN D 423 4057 Is it a 8k-8 lug 5/8” I do know that the axle is a 8 lug and the diameter of the studs are 5/8” It’s a huge drum for this axle. It has floating tires on it and it weighs 9000 lbs

Thank you for the pictures and information of your axle!

I called Dexter and your Dexter P12 SLR axle with Serial Number D-423-4057 has a 9000lb axle rating, and uses an 8 on 6-1/2 hub and drum assembly with 5/8" studs like you mentioned.

For replacement bearings there is not a kit that has all of the bearings and races but you can purchase them all separately as follows:

Inner Bearing # 387A
Inner Race # 382A
Outer Bearing # 25580
Outer Race # 25520
Oil Seal # 10-51
And Oil Cap Kit # RG04-270

To replace your broken brake assembly you will need Right Side # 23-451, or Left Side # 23-450.This will be the complete new assembly, as the brake shoes are not sold separately.

Lastly if you need to replace your Hub and Drum Assembly you will need the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 9K to 10K Axles # K08-288-90 which includes the bearings, races, oil seal, and oil cap kit.
