Cost Effective Way to Use Longer Hitch Extension on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500
Question:
Hello, I have a 2005 dodge ram 3500 5.9 and I recently added a over cab camper lance 820. My truck has a class 3 hitch and it is sunk in about 3 ft from the end of the camper to the inlet to the truck hitch. Im only trying to haul a small 5×8 trailer that weighs 400 lbs with an atv that weighs 830 lbs and a big cooler full of ice and 5 or 6 gas and if things go right it will be heavier on the way back with elk in the cooler. Is there a solution for my setup without breaking the bank. Is just an extension with chain tensioners acceptable. Do I need to add a stabilizer or am i looking at the whole enchilada from new class 5 hitch to a double tube extension with stabilizer. Like I said I am not towing any heavier loads then described but want to make sure Im keeping myself safe along with everyone else on the road. Thanks for the help.

The most cost effective solution is going to be to install a 2-1/2 inch hitch on your 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 with the Draw Tite # DT45509 so that you can use the Titan extender # RP45292 for 24 to 34 inch.
The other solution with the Torklift double hitches would be quite a bit more expensive.
