Limitations Of A Multipurpose Ball Mount
Question:
I have a motorcycle hitch carrier 600 lbs max capacity and would like to tow a 4x8 tagalong trailer with two kayaks at same time. Do you make a duel 2reciever hitch that can support the bike on one and the trailer on the other? Or do you know of anyway how this could be done? Thank you

This is a extremely aggressive setup, but I've seen some crazy things on the road! Some things I see on the road work but are hardly ever safe for your equipment and everyone else commuting. You could potentially use the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 with this ball # 63845 to get it done, but the main issue is that you cannot exceed 750 lbs of tongue weight though. Using your motorcycle carrier without this multipurpose mount will get you close to the 750 lb tongue weight capacity alone, but when using the mount you are extending the hitch receiver by 7-1/2 inches which will increase your tongue weight drastically. It is safe to say that your tongue weight will be much more than what the accessory is rated for.
If you use our fit guide to find a roof rack for your vehicle, you can use two J-Style Carriers # e98878 to haul both of your kayaks on your roof and still be able to use your motorcycle carrier # e98873
I cannot recommend having this aggressive of a set up. It's not a matter of IF it will fail, it's a matter of WHEN.
